New Managing Director at Aalborg Portland Nordic Cement

On 1 November, Michael Lundgaard Thomsen joined Nordic Cement, Aalborg Portland as Managing Director. Michael Lundgaard Thomsen has since 2003 been employed by Siemens Flow Instruments. First, he functioned as a Global Operations Manager and later from 2006 as the CEO of the company.

Previously, Michael Lundgaard Thomsen has been Director of Production at Sauer-Danfoss, Factory Manager at Linak and Supply Chain Manager at Danfoss Fluid Power.

Michael Lundgaard Thomsen holds a degree in engineering from Aalborg University and subsequently graduated with a Diploma in Business Administration in addition to an Executive MBA from Aarhus School of Business.

Michael Lundgaard Thomsen (49) was born and raised in Aalborg. For many years, he played handball in the best league in Denmark where he represented the local team, Aalborg HK. Michael Lundgaard Thomsen is married to Annette and they have two boys and two girls.

Michael Lundgaard Thomsen and family live in Gråsten, but the family is planning to move back to Aalborg in the summer of 2014. Up until then, Michael Lundgaard Thomsen will stay in Aalborg on weekdays.

Michael Lundgaard Thomsen replaces Kjeld Pedersen who resigned earlier this year due to illness.
